Experience

Kariobangi SWOP clinic has over ten years conducting research. Recently we were involved in a randomized, blinded phase two clinical trial where study participants were followed up for one year and we registered over 95 percent retention. Previously, we have done observational studies where a cohort of around 350 women were followed up for more than three years.

Research is embedded on a care and treatment platform whereby we have more than 4000 FSWs who are enrolled in the clinic and receive the minimum care package.

Kariobangi SWOP clinic is one among the seven SWOP clinics located within Nairobi county and offering services to FSWs. We boast of almost 30 years experience dating back from when our sister clinic in Majengo became operational. We have a 28 years experience working with FSWs and over 5 yrs working with MSMs and IDUs. In addition we have access to large numbers of FSWs, possession of individual unique data. We have access to a centralized laboratory and boast of a well developed peer-led model
