Programa de investigacion en prevencion de VIH con comunidades

Experience

Since 2010 we have been working in indigenous communities affected by HIV, identifying new cases using point of care tests, advocating for those diagnosed and living with HIV, training health volunters and health personal, producing educational resources and educating people in general about HIV and STI prevention. Our work is pioneer because the presence of HIV and STI in indigenous people in Colombia (1,4 million inhabitants) has been neglected by the offcial governmental reports. Indigenous people in Colombia are discriminated, poorer and have worst health than the rest of the population.
